CORE SERVICES

 

Information, Advice and Guidance on education employment and training remained our core services benefiting hundreds of clients throughout the year.

PRESTON EMPLOYMENT PARTNERSHIP (PEP):

One of the most successful partnership and meaningful relationship established to provide immense benefits to the clients in the areas of training and employment. The clients are now able to access job vacancies with support mechanism and expertise provided by PEP staff based at Preston Muslim Forum (PMF). From July 2006 to March 2007, Out of 45 clients registered with PEP, 41 secured the employment and 23 were also enrolled for various skills based training courses.

EMPLOYED AND EMPOWERED

 The project funded by NRF and supported through PEP where PMF developed and delivered a bespoke bilingual workshops to enhance employability skills of the clients seeking employment. This will now be on going services due to the popularity of the project. 

 

 

MAKING THE CHANGE

 

The ERDF funded capacity building project came to an end in March 2007. The project was a steep learning curve for PMF as it not only supported 10 groups to build their capacity but also helped us in terms of our development and training needs.

The groups couldn’t have come from more varied range and included elderly men, women, young people, mother and toddlers, sports and upcoming community groups.
